Hello everyone. As this is a new website I have decided to tell you a little more about some of my art works. So today I would like to showcase this very handsome boy.
This is "Cwmcerrig Calzaghe" or Joe to his friends and followers. He is a very handsome stallion that lives in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire and is owned by the lovely Julie Taylor.
Back in Oct 2019, Julie posted a photo on her fb page that had me itching to recreate in my favorite medium, coloured pencils. The photo was taken by Sian Broderick, who very kindly gave me his permission to use it as a reference photo.
As you can see it is an amazing shot of Joe admiring himself in the school mirror.
I felt like all my Christmases had come at once, and quite nervous as well. Was I really good enough to re create this gorgeous photo?
Well nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. It wasn't a commission so at least I didn't have that as added pressure. "Reflections" took me a week to draw, I loved every minute of it. I loved the way it turned out. I am told Joe is a cheeky chap but a pleasure to own, and I hope I managed to re create that feeling in my drawing of him.
